Details

Did an old lock leave an oversized hole, unsightly scratches, or splintered wood on your door? Or are you shifting your lock's backset and need to mask the overlapping gap?

The Don-Jo SP 135 Scar Plate (Remodel Ring) is the ultimate, low-profile solution designed to cover up door damage and alignment mistakes without requiring you to patch, paint, or replace the entire door. Measuring 3-1/2" Outer Diameter (O.D.) with a standard 2-1/8" Inner Diameter (I.D.), this heavy-duty metal plate sits flush under your existing lock hardware for a clean, professional finish.

Key Problem-Solving Features

  • Hides Door "Scars" Instantly: Easily covers up ugly wood splinters, paint rings, and over-drilled holes around the lock prep area.

  • Simplifies Backset Conversion: Perfect for converting a door from a 2-3/8" backset to a 2-3/4" backset (or vice-versa), seamlessly masking the exposed edge of the old hole.

  • Ultra-Slim Profile: At a sleek 0.032 gauge thickness, it fits snugly behind your lock's rose without interfering with the alignment of the spindle or latch mechanism.

  • Universal Fit: The 2-1/8" center hole is precision-engineered to slide right under the rose/escutcheon of standard key-in-knob cylindrical locks, lever locks, and deadbolts.

Easy Installation

Repairing your door takes less than five minutes and requires no special tools:

  1. Remove the Lock: Unscrew and temporarily slide out your current door knob, lever, or deadbolt.

  2. Place the Scar Plate: Center the SP 135 plate over the 2-1/8" bore hole on the door.

  3. Re-secure the Lock: Re-insert your lock chassis directly through the scar plate and tighten it. The lock's trim rose will press tightly against the plate, clamping it securely to the door surface.
